Julienne Carrot.

Peel the carrot.
Top and tail the carrot.
Cut the carrot into chunks approx 5 cm long.
Taking one chunk, slice a thin piece off one side of the carrot. This creates a flat side for the carrot.
Place this flat side down on the chopping board and slice the chunk lengthwise into pieces approx 5mm wide.
Take one slice of carrot and lay flat side down on the board.
Using the knife in a rocking motion slice lengthwise to create matchsticks 5mm wide.
Repeat with further pieces of carrot.
The 5mm slices maybe stacked and sliced together once you are feeling confident.
